The day my stomach made me happy

Yesterday, my fam and i decided to celebrate my brother and mother's birthday at AnJ's, a restaurant in Kota Kemuning.

My mum chose this restaurant because she heard and read good reviews about it, so we went there to try it out!

The ambience is cosy and warm, with oldies playing in the background.
The owner of the restaurant was there to serve us. He's really friendly and nice, and the waiters are very alert.

*Sorry there are no pictures! Except for the mushroom soup. * :(

What we ordered and the reviews:

1. Lamb Shank : Divine. The lamb smells so delicious and it melts in your mouth. Their gravy goes so well with the lamb that i am feeling so hungry just typing this out. My grandma (who dosent eat lamb because of its smell) surprisingly loved it! That's how great it is. The price is around RM35, if I'm not mistaken.

2. Seafood Platter : A variety of calamari, salmon, mussels, king sized prawns, sliced potatoes with the best gravy ever! The potatoes were the best I've ever taster in my life so far. My mum ordered this, and i didn't try it out, but she says its delicious! RM 45+

3. Spagetthi Cabonara: This is the best cabonara ever. Im not exaggerating! I'm not really a big fan of cabonara because it is usually very thick and creamy and makes me feel sick of it after eating half the plate. But this, is delicious. It is indescribable and is just perfect. I can't remember what was inside though. Ham, mushroom, etc. Haha! RM15+

4. Le Cordon Bleu: This was what i ordered. Le Cordon Bleu is actually chicken pieces rolled with ham, coated with bread crumbs. They served it with mushroom gravy, the delicious magical potatoes, ratatouille and some vege. It tasted pretty good! So far its the best I've ever tasted. I think this is the 2nd time in my life I'm ordering LCB, the first time was in Secret Recipe. AnJ's wins hands down! RM24.90

5. Fish & Chips: A classic dish, ordered by my grandma. She claims that the fish is small... but they gave 3 pieces of it and it looked pretty big to me. Haha! Anyway,  the tartar sauce was yummy, and overall the fish and chips were alright- nothing special. RM18+

6. Mushroom soup: Absolutely delicious. Mushroom bits inside. RM8

Coffee was ordered, and my parents agreed that Brew and Bread's coffee is waaay better.

Ordered Tiramisu (RM8.00), it was not bad! Pretty alright i guess.

We had a fun time chatting after lunch, and left AnJ's feeling ultra full and happy!

Do visit AnJ's especially if you live near KK! You won't be disappointed!

Father's Day at Brew & Bread

It's a tradition for my family to celebrate Mother's / Father'sDay by eating dinner at a delicious restaurant. This time for Father's Day we went to Brew & Bread, Kota Kemuning. It is particularly famous for its coffee and hearty breakfast dishes.

The 2 dads!

Interior

Super yummy mushroom soup

We ordered individual dishes, mainly pasta, fish and lamb shank. I find their pasta slightly above average, and my dad and grandpa said the lamb shank was delicious. (sorry no pics!)

Then, we ordered dessert! :)

Yogurt Cheese
Light, rich and delicious. My sister loved it!

Carrot Walnut
You can actually see the carrot grates, the cake tasted just right with a hint of cinnamon- i will definitely order this again.

Belgian Chocolate Mousse
Tastes as good as it looks. Moderately dense chocolate cake with mousse in the middle. I'm a chocoholic, and i think it's yummy- although i'd prefer it to be denser. Haha!

The best part, their coffee!! :D They use illy beans. They can customize coffee art for you, so i asked them to do a "Happy Father's Day" on the coffee. Hahah!

Cappucino
Can you see the heart shape behind "Happy Father"? The barista told me it's hard to do coffee art on cappuccino, that's why "Day" is missing -.-

Caramel Latte
The coffee tastes really good. That's all i can say.

 Here's a clearer heart shape

Guess what's this?
It's an Angry Bird! How cool is that man?!! My whole family had a moment of excitement after we managed to figure out what it was. Hahaha.

Baked goods

Mama. My grandmother gets pretty excited when she sees her picture in the camera. This is her excited face. Hahah! :)

My whole family enjoyed the food here. Do come to this restaurant, i highly recommend it! Plus, there is no GST or service charge! ;)

Finally, Happy Father's Day!
Thank you for being the awesomest dad ever! Sorry if I every disobeyed you or hurt your feelings.
I know I don't always say this, but i love you!

Updates on this soon! ^

Okay, it's the second day of holidays- and I'm getting FAT. :(

Yeahh, i did my nails today- i tried doing the Archie comic nails, but i only managed to get Betty on my finger. :'( Archie didn't wanna stay and Veronica got smudged. sigh.

Im feeling ultra full now- was supposed to gym at 630, but ended up doing my nails. Anyway, i have to mow the lawn tmr so i guess that'll compensate.

Gonna go watch GG now haha! Byee!

The city of Love

So, for the first time in approx 4 months, i watched a movie with my family at home. Tonight, it was Monte Carlo (which i've been dying to watch since forever!).

This show has my 2 fav celebs in it- Leighton Meester and Selena Gomez. It's basically a "dream come true"/ fairytale kinda story; romantic and made me laugh like crazy. I'll give it a 8/10! The cons of the show was that it was very predictable. I managed to guess what happened next. Hahah!
Paris and Monte Carlo looked so beautiful in the movie. Found out that my parents went to Monte Carlo without me!
:(

I must must go to both Paris and Monte Carlo at least once in my life.

The icing on the cake was Pierre Boulanger. I think i've found my crush. He is from France and is gorgeous! :) <3

My fav scene in Monte Carlo:

Pierre Boulanger:

Sigh the movie was so nice and romantic. I think I'm gonna watch it a few more times haha!

Picture of a happy me before going to KLCC on the day exam ended :D yay!

Kay im gonna go hit the sack!

Nail it on.

This reminds me of the stall my class set up for Hari Karnival in 2010 called "Nail Me" or "Nail It". Hahah.   :} Memories.

Anyway, in the next post i will be doing a review on nail stickers!

These nail stickers are inspired by Sally Hansen's nail strips that are actually real nail polish strips, but the application method is similar to these nail stickers. A box of them cost around RM57 in local drugstores i think. Pretty pricey, eh?

But i lovelovelove these strips! My fav one is "Laced Up", which is the one in the second row, far right!

Last week, Monash had a charity event by the Med students called Toon Out Cancer! I supported my old school mate, Clara by paying RM5 for face painting, which actually costs RM3, but i cut line because i had to accompany Vanny to get something. Haha! Oh well, all proceeds go to charity anyway!

I think i had a pretty hectic/ fun week! Jinnyboy TV came to uni a few days ago, and Sue, Chloe and i attended their "cheong hei" talk. They are good, no doubt- they just like beating around the bush. Towards the end, Jin had a Q&A session. When nobody else had questions to ask and the hall was quiet, i asked Chloe to ask Jin whether we can take a pic with him. When he saw us talking, he said: "Do you girls have anything to ask me?" Chloe and i were looking for the "girls", to discover that everyone in the hall turned back to look at us. *shy*

Then when we said "no" and everything was back to normal, both of us were squealing because Jin noticed us. -.- (a day in the life of Chloe and Charis)

We took a picture with Jin, Reuben and Prakash, but the picture is with Sue. Ill upload it when its out! Haha!

Then Mel and i had a mini drama-filled day on Sunday. First time in a long time we felt so !@$%$.
BUT, i missed talking to Mel. :) She's been my bestie for 16 years? Or ever since we were born.
Gonna be having a sleepover at her house soon, before she starts uni!

Anyways, i gotta go. ETW MCQ test tomorrow. Wish me luck!
